CEPC Physics and detector regular meeting

Attend: Joao, Huirong Qi, Ouyang Qun, Hongbo Zhu, Gang Li, Zian Zhu, Feipeng Ning, Zhijun Liang, Zhaoru Zhang, Jianbei Liu (VIdyo), Franco (Vidyo), Liantao Wang (Vidyo), Manqi Ruan (Vidyo), Mila (Vidyo)

 

The meeting mainly focus on some important issue for Rome workshop. 

  • Firstly, the session structure is fixed. So the second step is to determine the conveners for each session so as to be responsisble for collecting the talks for their session. Besides of the name mentioned in Joao's slides, the MDI convener can add Ivan, TPC convener add Huirong. 
  • The aim of this meeting is discuss the issue for CDR, and understand what should we do for the next few years.
  • For the physics/simulation session, we don't need talks for each decay channel ,combine some of them and put more technical simulation talks. Zhijun should send the topic of ewk parts.
  • For tracking system session: Huirong suggested add 2 more TPC talks. Ouyang suggested Xin Shi and Yang Zhou gave two talks, also the SOI design is possible for a talk. Then  an overview of tracker is needed.
  • For Magnet session, two short talks for magnet: general/SC R&D, speaker: Zian and Feipeng
  • For Calorimeter: convener suggested giving the simulation and R&D talks for Calo. In this way, the calorimeter session can be merged with simulation, treated as a joint session with simulation.

CDR status:

  • MDI: Higgs number fixed, W and Z not yet
  • Magnet: discussed whether the length of magnet is 15m or 20m (suggested by Jie Gao)
  • Theory: come out by end of this month
  • Physics: They made some comparison distribution for  3T and 3.5T samples. Yaquan pushed the analysis with fast simulation. Joao suggested to make a table for the working schedule. Zhijun said he wil commit the electroweak part by end of this week.
  • TPC: make sure whether the length of laser rode is 3660mm.
