Description
Recently the effects of hydrodynamic fluctuations, i.e., the thermal fluctuations of relativistic hydrodynamics, on flow observables in high-energy nuclear collisions are analyzed in event-by-event simulations by dynamical models. The effects affect the precise determination of the transport properties of the created matter and also play a significant role in the domain close to the critical point in the QCD phase diagram. For the quantitative analysis based on the dynamical models which describe the highly non-equilibrium spacetime evolution in high-energy nuclear collision processes, we need to develop physically consistent treatment of hydrodynamic fluctuations on top of the non-linear hydrodynamic equations in inhomogeneous and non-static backgrounds. We discuss the effects of hydrodynamic fluctuations on experimental observables, the property of hydrodynamic fluctuations in relativistic systems, the modification of the fluctuation-dissipation relation in inhomogeneous and non-static backgrounds, the renormaliation of the transport coefficients and equation of states, and also the modification of the distribution function in the Cooper-Frye formula and the relation of smearing of the initial conditions to the cutoff of hydrodynamic fluctuations.
