Description
Abstract: Ever since Richard Feynman proposed “simulating physics with quantum computers” in 1982, people have been continuing to search for fast quantum algorithms for physical systems and a lot of progress has been made. In this talk, we take an overlook through the development of quantum computers in the last thirty years, as well as their applications to physics. About the speaker: Mr. Yuxuan Zhang is a physics PhD student from the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating from University of California, Santa Barbara in 2016, he became a visiting student at IHEP until 2017 under the supervision of Dr. Manqi Ruan. His current main interest is quantum information and quantum computing.
