Search for Higgs boson decays to di-muon using Run 2 ATLAS data

Description
While the Higgs boson has been discovered since 2012, its coupling to the 2nd generation fermion remains to be established, and H->mumu is the most promising channel at LHC. In this presentation, I will discuss the latest ATLAS H->mumu results based on full Run 2 dataset.
CV: Hongtao Yang graduated from Peking University in 2010, with Bachelor thesis on BES III experiment supervised by Prof. Yajun Mao. He obtained his PhD degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016, supervised by Prof. Sau Lan WU. His PhD thesis is on the discovery of the Higgs boson, measurement of Higgs boson properties, and search for new physics in the diphoton decay channel. He is now a Chamberlain postdoctoral Fellow of Lawrence Berkeley National Lab in USA. Hongtao participated in the Higgs boson discovery as a junior student. Since then, his main interest has been on Higgs boson property measurements. He serves as the co-convener of the ATLAS Higgs properties and combinations sub-group since 2017. He is also involved in the Run 2 operation of ATLAS pixel detector, as well as the upgrade of ATLAS pixel detector for high-luminosity LHC.
