Exploring Lifetime frontier and Computing frontier at the LHC

Description
Since discovery of the Higgs Boson in 2012, there is no exciting evidences of Beyond the Standard Model physics from the current LHC experiments. Many big questions are still yet to be addressed such as dark matter, particle-antipartcile asymmetry, hierarchy problem and neutrino masses. Most theoretical models that explain these key issues can contain or require long-lived particles, or predict extremely rare and complicated signatures. In this talk, I'll present new developments in the lifetime frontier and computing frontier and how each of them can accelerate physics discovery. More specifically, I'll talk about the latest status of the Forward Search Experiment at the LHC (FASER) for the lifetime frontier. As for the computing frontier, I'll discuss the state-of-the-art technology to accelerate sophisticated deep learning algorithm in modern co-processors (FGPA, GPU) by the Fast Machine Learning collaboration. I'll highlight challenges, solutions and prospect for the future of these two frontiers.
