Description
腾讯会议(会议ID:485 194 655) The traditional direct detection of dark matter (DM)-nucleus scattering loses sensitivity rapidly for a sub-GeV DM candidate due to the threshold of recoil energy. An alternative way to search for a light DM candidate is through the scattering off elelcrons which, unfortunately, is also powerless for a sub-MeV DM candidate. The scattering between DM and energetic cosmic-ray particles can significantly accelerate a small fraction of Galactic DM particles, making it detectable with existing detectors. In this talk, after brief introduction on DM-electron direct detection experiments, I discuss the effect of such cosmic-ray boosted DM on the DM-electron direct detection experiments and derive new constraints on DM-electron scattering cross section within sub-MeV mass range by using current data from the XENON100/1T experiments.
