2) LOI for Snowmass

Joao asked people to please check the responsible person for every sub-groups and make sure you can provide the document in time.

Harald has question about the topic of LOI for silicon tracker. Joao said that the LOI no need to be specifically focus on CEPC, it also can be a generic R&D description.

2. Highlights from MDI workshop by Hongbo

Hongbo summarized the highlight topics discussed in MDI workshop happened in last week, which mainly contains HOM heat load, latest updates for radiation background  research, beam pipe design and optimization, vertex design and luminal design. For short term prospective, they will engage in having a  consistent design of the interaction region based on the CDR machine parameters in about two month. For the long term plan, they will iterate the interaction region design to benefit from higher luminosity machine design, and list critical topics, manpowers, funding information.

3. Full simulation of IDEA drift chamber by Tassielli

Tassielli reported cluster and signal generation simulation for drift chamber. They use Geant4 and Garfield together to simulate ionization in gas, signal generation and Peak finder algorithm.

Comments and questions:

1) Franco Bedeschi suggested that it’s necessary to compare the simulation results with experimental data.

2) Joao: Why you need to investigate the interface with Geant and Grafield?

    Tassielli: There is interface for drift chamber, but it’s not for clustering.

3) Xin: How do you use firstly use Geant4 and Garfield together for simulation?

   Tassielli: Firstly use garfield to get distribution and extract to Geant4.
