On-line seminar series on “RHIC Beam Energy Scan: Theory and Experiment”

Asia/Shanghai
Description

Theoretical overview on both chirality and vorticity

Speaker: Xuguang Huang (Fudan U.)

Time: Dec. 8 (Tuesday) 9:00am (New York), 6:00am (San Fransisco), 3:00pm (Frankfurt) 7:30pm(New Delhi), 10:00pm (Beijing), 11:00pm (Tokyo)

Abstract: Strong magnetic and vortical fields are generated in heavy-ion collisions. They can induce novel quantum phenomena like the chiral magnetic effect, chiral vortical effect, and spin polarization of hadrons. We discuss some general features of these phenomena and their phenomenology in heavy-ion collisions from a theoretical point of view. We will also present some new results about realistic magnetic field evolution, the application of deep learning to chiral magnetic effect search especially in isobar collisions, the spin polarization of Xi and Omega hyperons, and Phi spin alignment in central collisions.
