On-line seminar series II on “RHIC Beam Energy Scan: Theory and Experiment” 2021

Description

Physics at High Baryon Density Region

Speaker: Kenji Fukushima (Tokyo Univ.)

Time: Mar. 9 (Tuesday) 6:00am (San Fransisco), 9:00am (New York), 3:00pm (Frankfurt), 7:30pm(New Delhi), 10:00pm (Beijing), 11:00pm (Tokyo)

Abstract: RHIC/LHC and lattice-QCD data have revealed physics of phase transitions at high temperature, and one may expect that an extrapolation involving baryon density could be straightforward.  There are significant differences, however, and physics is far more nontrivial even apart from the sign problem on the lattice.  I will discuss such density-induced differences and implications within phenomenological models, (resummed) perturbation theory, and heuristic physics pictures, especially in the context of theoretically constructing an equation of state.
