First results from Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab

Description
The Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab measures the muon anomalous magnetic moment with high precision. Together with recent improvements on the theory front, the first results of the experiment confirm the long-standing discrepancy between the experimental measurements and the Standard Model predictions. The combined significance of the discrepancy is at 4.2 sigma. This talk presents the first results and current status of the Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab.
Introduction of the speaker:
李亮教授,长期从事粒子物理实验、大科学装置及相关交叉学科研究。1999 年本科毕业于北京大学物理系,2005年获得美国威斯康辛大学麦迪逊分校博士学位。后在美国费米实验室和加州大学河滨分校从事顶夸克物理的相关实验研究,对2009年单顶夸克粒子的发现有突出贡献。2012 年回国带领上海交大团队加入缪子反常磁矩实验(Muon g-2)国际合作组,任合作组秘书长和离线数据分析的共同总协调人,为2021年缪子反常磁矩重大发现文章的主要完成人和作者之一。2018年入选致远荣誉计划导师,对2018年希格斯粒子的ttH伴随产生态以及2020年首次发现四顶夸克粒子产生态的证据有重要贡献。目前从事缪子反常磁矩实验、ATLAS 实验,以及基于中国本土的粒子物理实验研究。
