Abstract: Electromagnetic radiation from relativistic hadronic collisions represents a class of penetrating probes, which can provide tomographic information. This radiation informs us about temperature and time scales, and accesses the complete space-time modeling of heavy-ion collisions. This talk will review the current status of the theory of the production of electromagnetic radiation, concentrating on photons. We will also present some of the more recent developments.
