Singularity of metrics and its connection to thermodynamics and dynamics of black holes

摘要：In general, the spacetime region behind an event horizon cannot be detected directly. We provide a proposal to observe indirectly the singularity or non-singularity of metrics at a black hole center by connecting the singularity or non-singularity with the thermodynamics and dynamics of black holes. If a singular center gives rise to the thermodynamic and dynamic effects different from those a non-singular one does, we may distinguish singular and non-singular centers. As a concrete analysis, we take the charged black hole in the four-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory and investigate mainly its second-order phase transitions and quasinormal modes in the eikonal limit. The resulting effects might be observed in future experiments when compared with those of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole of Einstein's general relativity. 个人简介：缪炎刚 毕业于兰州大学物理学系理论物理专业，获理学学士、理学硕士、理学博士学位（1992年），并担任助教、讲师；获得博士学位后，到中国科学技术大学近代物理学系做博士后，出站时取得副教授任职资格（1994年）；然后受聘在厦门大学物理学系任副教授、教授（1998年）；2004年起任南开大学物理学院教授、博士生导师。此外，1995－1997年在荷兰Amsterdam大学理论物理研究所任访问学者；1999年－2001年在德国Kaiserslautern大学物理系以洪堡学者身份任客座教授；2002年－2004年在大阪大学学术访问。研究领域主要在量子场论、非对易几何、PT对称量子力学、量子引力和黑洞物理等，发表相关研究论文九十余篇并主持九项国家自然科学基金和教育部博士点基金项目。
