Description
Abstract: The stochastic approach to inflation (as it is usually formulated) is based upon the separate universe approach. While for the case of slow-roll, the separate universe approach is enough to obtain cosmological observables, in other cases that are relevant for primordial black hole formation, like in ultra-slow-rolling and/or constant-rolling backgrounds, this is not the case. In this seminar, I will define an improved version of the stochastic approach to inflation which is valid for any inflationary regime, by doing so, I will show that the linear perturbation theory power spectrum coincides with the one calculated by the use of the stochastic approach, contrary to what is claimed in recent literature.
