Combining collider physics and dark matter physics to explore new physics models

Description
As we know, the standard model (SM) of electroweak theory is highly successful in explaining almost all the observations in particle physics experiments. However, theorists have not stopped extending the SM to answer the outstanding questions in particle physics, such as the origin of the electroweak symmetry breaking, the recent W boson mass anomaly and dark matter. Since the Higgs boson can be the crucial role for the above issues, I will first overview the relevant Higgs boson measurements and some interesting processes to explore the properties of the Higgs boson. Then we turn to the issue of CDF-II W boson mass measurement including the global electroweak fits and trying to use the two-Higgs-doublet model to explain this anomaly. Finally, we start from the current status of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) and then extend to the inelastic dark matter model as one of the popular light dark matter models and its related search strategies.   Biography: Chih-Ting Lu(卢致廷) , associate professor of Nanjing Normal University; He received his Ph.D. degree from Tsing Hua University (Hsinchu, Taiwan) in 2015, and then engaged in post-doctoral research at the Center for Theoretical Sciences in Taiwan and Korea Institute for Advanced Study in Korea. His main research topics include collider physics phenomenology, Higgs physics, dark matter physics, and etc. Recently, he focuses on light dark matter issues, including the search for light dark matter in accelerator and direct detection experiments as well as model building.  Tencent/VOOV Meeting ID: 246-368-598
