第六届黑洞天体物理年会定于2011年4月20－24日在广西省桂林市召开。会议由973项目“黑洞以及其它致密天体物理的研究”与“宇宙大尺度结构和星系形成与演化”联合主办，以促进两项目同仁的交流合作，共同探讨恒星、星系、直至宇宙的各层次天体系统中涉及黑洞及其它致密天体的物理过程，并为相关领域研究生提供开拓视野、学术探讨、成果展示的平台。 会议以研究生、博士后和青年研究人员的学术报告为主，主题包括：（1）黑洞及其它致密天体系统的物理过程；（2）星系活动与超大质量黑洞的形成和演化；（3）中小质量黑洞和中子星；（4）伽玛射线暴及其它爆发天体；（5）高能剧烈天体活动现象的多波段观测；（6）我国空间和地面天文观测；（7）宇宙学和高能天体物理的其它相关课题。为确保会议能有效促进学术交流，两973项目专家组成员组成会议科学委员会，对口头报告进行筛选和推荐，并充分安排poster报告。 会议也将结合973项目研究进展，由课题负责人及学术骨干做综述性报告，汇报研究思路、本领域研究热点、未解决的重要问题和研究工作计划等，报告侧重待解决重要问题的讨论，以激发合作，启迪入门研究人员的科研兴趣。 所有递交给会议的文章将被整理成电子文档，并根据报告人要求附注相关个人信息，以供会议成员及时全面了解该领域的国内研究现状、寻求合作机遇。
