In this talk, I will illustrate how the concept of global symmetries can go beyond the ordinary symmetries or higher form symmetries specified by a group, via examples of 4d gauge theories. These exotic symmetries are now known as non-invertible symmetries or fusion category symmetries. The exotic symmetries can also suffer from anomalies, but the anomaly inflow mechanism is still not completely understood so far. I will explain some preliminary attempts to characterize the anomaly inflow using the Symmetry TFTs.
