摘要
As the thrid generation experiment at Beijing Electron and Positron Collider, BESIII is a leading experiment on the studies of hadron physics and tau-charm physics with the highest accuracy achieved until now. During 15 years of running, the peak luminosity of the double-ring e+e- collider have exceeded the design value of 10^33 cm-2 s-1 and many high-impact results have been published. The BESIII Collaboration has grown to have about 600 members from 86 institutions in 17 countries. In this seminar, a brief historical review will be given, followed by some very recent results as a demonstration of the capability of the experiment. The near future plans and longer prospects will also be discussed.

Dayong Wang, tenured associate professor of Peking University. In June 2012, he joined Peking University as a researcher of the Hundred Talents Program. In 2016, he was awarded the "Chen Huxiong Outstanding Young Teacher Award in Physics" by Peking University. He has long been engaged in collider physics research and new particle detection and trigger technology R&D in many large-scale international particle physics experiments. He is a member of the BES/BESIII/CMS collaborations. He has served as the New Physics Group convenor and the physics coordinator of the BESIII Collaboration. He is currently a topical convener of the International Quarkonium Working Group (QWG), and a editorial board member of "Modern Physics Letters A".
