Abstract: The numerous CERN particle physics experiments produce a tremendous amount of data. Since the start of LHC Run 3 in 2022, several petabytes of data have already been transferred towards and from the storage infrastructure. The different software involved are constantly improving in order to meet CERN experiments' needs.

This presentation will introduce the EOS software - the distributed multi-petabyte disk storage system, its usage at CERN, the different software evolution allowing to run smoothly during LHC Run 3 and some future improvements. In a second time, this presentation will introduce the long-term HEP data archival software, CTA - CERN Tape Archive, its usage at CERN, its operation and its future.

About the Speaker: Cedric Caffy graduated from the ISIMA school in Clermont-Ferrand, France, is a software engineer at CERN since December 2018. He first worked on the CTA software during 2 years after which he joined the EOS team as a software engineer working on EOS and its underlying data transfer protocol, XRootD. He is also managing and operating the EOS instance of the LHCb experiment at CERN.
