The Strong CP problem in particle physics arises from the discrepancy between the expected and observed neutron electric dipole moment (EDM). The axion, a hypothetical particle, offers a compelling solution to this puzzle and holds significant implications for cosmology and dark matter. This talk explores the axion’s potential to resolve the Strong CP problem and its role in the dark matter framework. We also discuss various axion detection methods, including those for scenarios where the axion is not dark matter. These techniques span collider experiments, solar axion searches, laboratory methods, and quantum experiments. Ongoing research into these approaches is crucial for deepening our understanding of axions and their broader impact on both fundamental physics and cosmology.
