The department of Physics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Institute of High-energy Physics, the Chinese Academy of Science are jointly organising the Hong Kong Academics LHAASO Symposium, to facilitate the promotion of science related to LHAASO and high-altitude environments。
LHAASO (Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory) has provided crucial insights into the origin and nature of cosmic rays, particularly in the ultra-high-energy regime. Its results also have implications for multi-messenger astronomy, as LHAASO can detect gamma rays in coincidence with other messengers, such as neutrinos and gravitational waves.
The meeting will take place at the LHAASO site. Expert talks about the instrument and the science, as well as a trip to visit the instrument will be arranged.
The meeting is partly supported by the RGC and the NSFC.
The deadline for registration is July 31th 2025
