Description
Abstract: The Future Circular Collider program is profiling itself as the next big challenge taken up by CERN. This ambitious program would be a unique opportunity to fuel the field of high-energy physics for several decades to come. Be it for testing the standard model predictions with unprecedented precision or to search for new particles, this machine is being designed with versatility and diversity at the heart of its multi-stage program. This presentation will aim at providing a snapshot at the current state of affairs. Emphasis will be given on the physics case, particularly for the FCC-ee early stage.
About the speaker: Christophe Grojean, is currently a leading scientist at DESY and a professor at Humboldt University zu Berlin. He got his PhD from the University Paris XI Orsay. After two years at the University of California in Berkeley he returned to Saclay as a faculty member, followed by a visiting professorship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a staff scientist at CERN. He is also coordinator of the Physics, Experiment and Detector FCC feasibility studies, member of the ECFA International Advisory Board for a Future Higgs Factory, and member of the PDG. He specializes in Higgs physics, physics Beyond Standard Model, future colliders and cosmo-particle. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with LHC experiments, shaping strategies for future colliders
