Abstract: In the XXI century, the second quantum revolution is taking place. In particular, quantum computing is gaining more and more media and academic importance. There is much speculation about its possible applicability in engineering, science and research problems. For this reason, in this talk we will see the importance of quantum computing, the meaning of a qubit and some examples of quantum algorithms.
Short CV: Dr. Moise Bonilla-Licea received the degree in physical engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico, in 2014, the master’s degree from Cinvestav-IPN, Mexico, in 2017, and the Doctorate degree (summa cum laude) in natural sciences from the Goethe University of Frankfurt, Germany, in 2021. He conducted his postdoctoral research, from 2022 to 2024, with the Department of Automatic Control, Cinvestav-IPN, focusing on the application of classical modern control theory in quantum control. He has published in physics journals, such as Physics Letters A and Foundations of Physics and in engineering journals, such as IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON AUTOMATIC CONTROL. His research interests include the formulation of Madelung’s quantum mechanics, quantum control, and the pedagogy of quantum mechanics.
