Description
We present a lattice determination of the nonperturbative β function for SU(3) gauge theory with four dynamical flavors, extending the continuous gradient-flow method from the pure-gauge theory to the dynamical case. By treating the gradient-flow time as a continuous energy scale, β(g²) = −t·dg²_GF/dt, we trace the running coupling from weak coupling into the strongly-coupled regime in a single nonperturbative framework, with no external scale setting. From newly generated ensembles, we extrapolate to infinite volume and to the continuum limit, and assess residual discretization effects by comparing results from different flow definitions.
