About the Event

The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, invites researchers, engineers, and postdoctoral fellows from CERN and the global scientific community to a dedicated Career Information Session.

This session offers a unique opportunity to learn about long-term and short-term career opportunities at IHEP across a broad range of cutting-edge research fields—from particle physics and cosmology to accelerator science, X-ray photon science, neutron scattering, and AI-driven computing.

Representatives from IHEP’s major research divisions will present current openings related to flagship projects including:

JUNO, BESIII, CEPC (Circular Electron Positron Collider)

CSNS (China Spallation Neutron Source)

HEPS (High Energy Photon Source – China’s 4th-gen synchrotron)

LHAASO, AliCPT, eXTP, HERD

Participation in international collaborations: ATLAS, CMS, LHCb

A Q&A and informal networking session will follow the presentations. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided.

All are welcome—whether you're considering a future move to China or simply curious about IHEP’s global scientific mission.

About IHEP

The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), is one of the institutes under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is Chinas top laboratory for particle physics. We want to understand the universe better at the most fundamental level from the smallest subatomic particles to the large-scale structure of the cosmos. We also want to use the knowledge and technology that comes from our research for the good of humanity. As well as theoretical and experimental research into particle and astroparticle physics, we have a broad range of research in related fields such as accelerator technologies and nuclear analysis techniques. The Institute also provides beam facilities for researchers in other fields of study.

IHEP’s main campus is at Yuquan Road in the west part of Beijing. The Yuquan campus hosts the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider, the BESIII experiment, the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility, and most of IHEPs research and administrative staff. In the Huairou campus located in north of Beijing, the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) is under commissioning. HEPS is a green-field 4th generation synchrotron radiation lightsource with energy 6GeV.

The Dongguan campus, is one of China's leading national research facilities for materials science (China Spallation Neutron Source, CSNS). It produces neutrons with an accelerator-based system that delivers proton pulses to a tungsten target through a process called spallation. These neutrons are then directed toward state-of-the-art instruments that provide a variety of capabilities to researchers across a broad range of disciplines, such as physics, chemistry, biology, and materials science. In addition, IHEP runs experiment like JUNO (Guangdong), AliCPT (Tibetand LHAASO (Sichuan) .
