Description
The CEPC is designed to achieve an ultra-low vertical RMS beam size of approximately 36 nm at the interaction point (IP), which places extremely stringent requirements on the stability of both the beam and the accelerator infrastructure. At this nanometer scale, even sub-micrometer ground vibrations or mechanical oscillations can lead to significant beam orbit deviations, thereby degrading the luminosity performance. To quantitatively assess such effects, a novel beam dynamics analytical model is used. This model evaluates the vibration-induced vertical displacement of the beam and its subsequent impact on the luminosity reduction, taking into account the spectral characteristics of the ground motion. By linking the mechanical vibrations to the beam dynamics response, the model provides a systematic tool for estimating luminosity loss and guiding the design of vibration mitigation strategies for CEPC.
