Description
Incoherent electron–positron pair production, commonly referred to as beamstrahlung, constitutes the dominant beam-induced background for the CPEC, accounting for more than 95% of the total background events. Reliable modeling of this process is therefore essential for both detector response estimation and trigger system design. At present, the Guinea-Pig simulation package is employed to generate this incoherent pair-production background. To validate the Guinea-Pig predictions, we analyze open data from the DELPHI experiment at LEP1 and LEP2 to measure the production cross section and momentum distribution of the produced pairs, and we compare these measurements with the corresponding simulation results.
