Description
This study evaluates the Accelerator Physics Emulation Studio (APES) against the Strategic Accelerator Design (SAD) code for simulating single beam background processes at BEPCII‑U, with a focus on physical modeling and computational performance. In terms of physics, APES shows good agreement with SAD in scattering generation, optical functions, beam lifetimes, and loss distributions near the interaction region; the maximum relative deviation in process specific lifetimes is approximately 1.82%, while the total lifetime deviation is below 0.3% at BEPCII‑U. In terms of computational efficiency, APES on GPU significantly outperforms its CPU version when the number of tracked particles reaches several hundred; for multi‑turn tracking of 10⁴ particles, the GPU implementation achieves a speedup of about 20 times over the CPU version and a performance improvement of about 10 times relative to SAD on CPU. These results confirm that APES can reliably model the relevant physical processes and, combined with its GPU acceleration, provides an efficient and reliable tool for single beam background studies at BEPCII‑U, with potential applicability to future circular colliders.
