Description

A drift chamber(DC)-based design has been chosen and done as a possible alternative to the TPC, in order to contribute its PID performance in the CEPC reference detector’s design [1].
One hand is to study and optimize the resolution of d𝑁/d𝑥 with the advanced electronics and the multilayer DC prototype .Thanks to the nice collaboration with the Italian group, after the study of the simulation and the preliminary test, two short multilayer drift chamber prototypes have been developed and tested with the cosmic ray and the beam at CERN PS, respectively [2, 3].
Another hand is to try the DC’ conceptual length wiring, since there hasn’t been any records or experiences in the known experiments with such a super long 5-5.8 meter single wire as one channel.
This work would like to focus on the latter and report the progress of DC’s super-long wiring as a poster if it could be accepted. It will concern:
1) Mechanical tooling for measuring the tensile limit has been optimized.
2) A tooling for a super-long wiring has been designed and machined.
3) The unit array wires as long as 5.3m has been wired. The creep of the wires has been calculated.
Furthermore, the key components and the construction standard during this work, as well as the wire-tension and dark currents will be reported.
