Description
Axion-like particles (ALPs) with lepton-flavour-violating couplings provide a distinctive opportunity to search for new physics at future high-energy and flavour facilities. I will discuss the phenomenology of ALPs above the muon threshold, where the decay a→eμ becomes kinematically accessible and can lead to striking signatures with very small Standard Model backgrounds. I will focus on ALP production in charged-meson, W, Z, quarkonium and τ decays, and discuss the prospects for probing these interactions at future e+e− colliders and flavour factories, complemented by fixed-target and beam-dump experiments. Particular emphasis will be given to the sensitivity of future facilities and to the interplay between different production channels and existing low-energy constraints.
