DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Maxim Pospelov (University of Minnesota)\nMaxim Pos
pelov is Professor at the William I. Fine Theoretical Physics Institute an
d Professor in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Mi
nnesota. He received his Ph.D. from the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physic
s in 1994 (formally 1995). Following his Ph.D.\, he was a NATO Science Fel
low at the University of Quebec at Montreal from 1996 to 1998\, a Research
Associate at the University of Minnesota from 1998 to 2001\, a Visiting S
cientist at McGill University from 2001 to 2002\, and an Advanced PPARC Re
search Fellow at the University of Sussex in 2002. He then joined the Depa
rtment of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Victoria in 2002 and
became an Associate Faculty member at Perimeter Institute in 2004.\n\nSinc
e 2019\, he has been a faculty member in the School of Physics and Astrono
my at the University of Minnesota and a member of the William I. Fine Theo
retical Physics Institute. His research spans theoretical particle physics
\, astroparticle physics\, and cosmology\, with important contributions to
dark matter\, hidden sectors\, and precision probes of physics beyond the
Standard Model. In recognition of his work\, he was elected Fellow of the
American Physical Society in 2022\, cited for outstanding contributions t
o astroparticle physics\, including phenomenological approaches to dark ma
tter and its detection\, and important work on simple extensions of the St
 andard Model with dark matter.\nhttps://indico.ihep.ac.cn/event/29140/
