Real-time, high-precision thermal neutron beam monitoring is essential for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT). Low gain avalanche diode (LGAD) is a new type of semiconductor detector with characteristics such as ultrafast signal response, high time resolution, and strong radiation resistance. It has been successfully deployed in the ATLAS experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Its unique properties make it a promising candidate for BNCT neutron beam monitoring. This presentation will introduce the research progress of LGAD in BNCT neutron beam measurement, including the process of plating thermal neutron conversion materials on the LGAD surface (such as 6LiF), basic electrical property testing, design and production of detector module, thermal neutron response characteristics, neutron/gamma discrimination, and the actual test results in the BNCT facility of Dongguan People's Hospital.
