Description

Neutrinoless double-beta decay (0νββ) provides critical insight into whether neutrinos are Majorana particles and the origin of the universe's matter-antimatter asymmetry. Scintillating bolometers are a highly promising technology for next-generation searches, characterised by high energy resolution and active background discrimination via simultaneous heat-light readout. This presentation highlights the recent progress of Chinese R&D efforts targeting a future experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory (CJPL). We focus on the R&D of prototype detector modules, conducting both ground-level laboratory tests and deep-underground measurements. The insights gained from this ongoing R&D programmes will guide the design of a future, large‑scale experiment planned for the CJPL, with the objective of achieving unprecedented sensitivity in the search for 0νββ decay.
