Toponium from the LHC

摘要：

In this talk, I will review the recent toponium results from the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. An excess of events is observed over the baseline pQCD prediction, with an observed significance of 8σ. This excess is consistent with the formation of color-singlet, S-wave, quasi-bound t¯t states as predicted by non-relativistic QCD, and corresponds to a measured cross-section of 9.0±1.3pb.

李海峰，山东大学前沿交叉科学青岛研究院教授。

2005年在山东大学获得本科学位。2008-2012年，作为联合培养博士研究生在美国威斯康星大学从事ATLAS实验研究。2012年在山东大学获得理学博士学位。2012-2017年，在美国纽约州立大学石溪分校从事博士后研究工作。2017年9月到山东大学工作。主要研究内容及成果：2011–2012 年希格斯粒子发现阶段，作为希格斯粒子衰变至双 W 玻色子道的主要分析人员之一参与相关研究；为希格斯粒子衰变至双缪子道研究的开创者之一，并曾担任该分析团队负责人；同时开展了顶夸克偶素相关研究。
