Abstract: The Standard Model of particle physics provides a remarkably successful theoretical description of fundamental particles and their interactions. Nevertheless, several fundamental questions remain unresolved, including the nature of dark matter, the origin of neutrino masses, and the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the Universe. Precision measurements of Standard Model processes at the Large Hadron Collider play a crucial role in testing the internal consistency of the theory. At the same time, small deviations from theoretical predictions may provide important clues to the existence of new physics.
This seminar will present an overview of ATLAS measurements and searches using lepton + photon final states, covering Standard Model precision measurements, neutral triple gauge couplings, and the rare Higgs decays. At the end, it will also offer a brief outlook on the scientific opportunities arising from the increased luminosity and collision energy of the LHC for future running periods.

Brief biography: Danning Liu received her Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tsung-Dao Lee Institute in 2024. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher jointly affiliated with the Weizmann Institute of Science and the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology), and a member of the ATLAS Collaboration at CERN. Her research focuses on Standard Model electroweak, Higgs boson physics, and EFT interpretations using final states involving leptons and photons.
