Announcement of the Workshop on Neutron Scattering Instrumentation for Disordered Materials

29 -30 June, 2015
Dongguan, China

Welcome to the website of the 1st CSNS Workshop on Neutron Scattering Instrumentation for Disordered Materials, will be held on June 29-30, at the China Spallation Neutron Source in Dongguan, China.

Neutron scattering has played an important role in elucidating the structure and dynamics of disordered materials, and the effect of disorder on properties. However, neutron applications to disorder are very demanding technically, as the scattering tends to be distributed in momentum and energy space. This workshop is intended to identify scientific drivers and key challenges in the design of neutron scattering instruments for study of structure and dynamics of disordered materials.  In addition to instrument design, supporting infrastructures such as sample environment and data analysis will also be discussed.  The outcome of this work will serve as a road map for planning and design of the CSNS instrument suite on disordered materials.

The workshop will be co-hosted by City University of Hong Kong and China Spallation Neutron Source, and co-chaired by Xunli Wang(CityU) and Fangwei Wang (CSNS).
