Description
Abstract: The GlueX is a particle physics experiment operating at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab). A coherent bremsstrahlung photon beam is produced from the newly installed beamline utilizing the 12 GeV electron beam. The experiment uses photoproduction (that is, the scattering of a real photonon a nucleon) to produce mesonic states. The long-term goal of the GlueX experiment is to search for and study hybrid mesons and in particular exotic hybrid mesons which provide the ideal laboratory for testing QCD in the confinement regime since these mesons explicitly manifest the gluonic degrees of freedom. Photoproduction is expected to be particularly effective in producing exotic hybrids and the data can also be used to study the spectrum of conventional mesons, including the poorly understood excited vector mesons and strangeonium. Physics-quality data from GlueX was accumulated in the spring of 2016 and again in 2017. The first physics paper on the beam asymmetry Σ in high-energy pi0/eta photoproduction has been published in PRC(R) and a broad meson photoproduction program is under analysis. In this talk, we will present introduction of the GlueX experiment, review other preliminary results for light meson photoproduction at GlueX, and then talk about the future upgrade proposals of the detector. About speaker: Shuang Han, graduated from Wuhan University in 2013. Afterwards, she worked on charmonium physics on the BESIII experiment as a joint Ph.D student of Wuhan University and Institution of High Energy Physics (IHEP, CAS), with major interest in hadronic transition and decay of charmonium states. From November 1st, 2016 to November 1st, 2017, She was invited to participate in the research program of GlueX experiment at Jefferson Lab (JLab) as a visiting Ph.D student, where she mainly focus on the physics analysis of "four photon final state” and the upgrade of the forward calorimeter. 个人简介: 韩爽,2013年毕业于武汉大学。2013年至今,作为武汉大学和高能所的联合培养博士生从事璨偶素物理研究,主要兴趣在璨偶素的强跃迁和强衰变的测量。在2016年11月至2017年11月期间代表武汉大学赴美国杰斐逊国家实验室参与GlueX实验,期间承担四光子末态的物理分析并参与前向量能器的升级的计划。
