Description
I will present the lectures as a timeline of my own researches on the topics related to Top, Higgs and Neutrino. More specifically, I will start with the discussion on Goldstone Boson Equivalence Theorem (ET) which is to do with the generation of W and Z boson masses, e.g., electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) mechanism. In the late 1980's, both weakly interacting and strongly interacting EWSB sectors were discussed to study the potential of the (killed) SSC and the (on-going) LHC. SUSY and Technicolor are two typical classes of models. Then, I will bring in the single-top production mechanism to relate the ET (i.e., EWSB sector) to the generation of top quark mass and its interactions to gauge bosons. I will tell stories about my own involvement in searching for the top quark before 1995 and Higgs boson before 2012. Before their direct detection, we need to rely on precision low energy data, LEP and Tevatron Z and W data to "estimate" the mass of top quark and Higgs boson. For that, I started working in early 1990's on precision calculations which lead to ResBos and CTEQ projects. The confirmation of neutrino oscillation leads to the existence of neutrino mass, I was interested in finding out the impact of specific mechanism for generating the mass of neutrinos, particularly, in SUSY and extra-dimension models. My work in early 2000's was to probe the interaction of neutrino and Higgs boson, i.e., to investigate the implication of different neutrino mass generation mechanism to Higgs physics at high energy colliders. After the discovery of Higgs boson, my focus is again on precision calculations relate to Higgs boson and top quark in order to test the Standard Model. 袁简鹏教授将为大家分享他的学术经历,欢迎各位同学踊跃参加、提问。
