Topological phases of matter have become an important research area in condensed matter physics. After a brief review of the history of the development of Symmetry Protected Topological(SPT) phases and Symmetry Enriched Topological(SET) phases, I will introduce some fundamental concepts, including local unitary transformation and short/long range entanglement, and the definition of SPT/SET phases. Then I will briefly introduce the classification theory of SPT/SET phases and their recent developments. Some points will be illustrated through concrete examples.
