Description
We built a semi-automated tuning workflow using high-performance-computer (HPC) and we will show a first demonstration of tuning using detector-level data, in particular the results of a search for new physics. This tune relies on a simple parametrized detector simulation, which itself includes a number of free parameters. These parameters can also be tuned to experimental data. Taken together, these two steps open a great deal of new data to event generator tuning applications, and also offer an automatic way to examine detector resolutions and efficiencies in complex phase regions of kinematic space. High Performance Computing Postdoctoral Scholar at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, April 2018 - present. Ph.D from University of Wisconsin-Madison, March 2018; Thesis advisor: Prof. Sau Lan Wu. B.Sc from Nanjing University, July 2009; Thesis advisor: Prof. Shenjian Chen.
