Updates on Feb. 2, 2020: We are extremely sorry to announce that due to the outbreak of a novel coronavirus in China, the spring school on effective field theories will be delayed indefinitely. Possible rescheduled dates will be emailed to the registrants and posted on this site. We appologize to the registrants for any inconvenience this may cause.
The XVIIth annual workshop on Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET 2020) will be held in Hangzhou, China, during March 23-26, 2020. More information about the workshop can be found here. For the benefit of students and junior researchers, we will have a pre-school on effective filed theories during March 16-20, 2020 at the same place as the workshop. The topics include:
- Introduction to perturbative QCD (Thomas Becher)
- Basic concepts of effective field theories (Aneesh Manohar)
- Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (Iain Stewart and Frank Tackmann)
- Heavy-Quark Effective Theory (Thomas Mehen)
- Non-Relativistic QCD (Martin Beneke)
- Non-Relativistic General Relativity (Ira Rothstein)
Due to limited resources, we'll have to go through a selection procedure in case of too many participants. Preference will be given to those who register early and whose research directions are closely related to effective field theories. Please inform us your academic background in the registration form.
