The 2019 International Workshop on Composite Higgs, Dark Matter, Neutrinos and Related Topics (Composite 2019) will be held from Nov. 21 (date of registration), Nov. 22 (talk sessions) to Nov. 24 at the South Campus of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in Guangzhou, China.
This workshop is jointly organized by Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU), China Center of Advanced Science and Technology (CCAST), Tsinghua University (THU), and Peng huanwu innovation research center for theoretical physics (PICTP), Institute of theoretical physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is hosted by Sun Yat-Sen University.
The Standard Model of particle physics continues in its success in describing the experimental data, thus leading us closer to finding answers to some fundamental questions. Among others, what is the true nature of the Higgs boson? What constitutes to the 20% of dark matter in the Universe? What is the origin of the small neutrino mass? This workshop will be dedicated to new and old ways to addressing these questions and finding answers in New Physics models.
Among others, composite dynamics and extra-dimensions could provide an answer to one or more of the above questions. The most recent developments on the application of composite dynamics in particle physics will be discussed, ranging from the phenomenology at the LHC, to Cosmological implication and the status of Lattice calculations. A particular attention will be given to prospects for future collider, where the searches for signs of compositeness may play a crucial role: from the high precision of CEPC to search for modifications to the Higgs couplings to the energy frontiers of the FCC to discover multi-TeV composite resonances and Dark Matter.
The workshop will mainly address the following topics:
- status of models of Dark Matter, including models of composite Higgs and Dark Matter.
- searches for new composite states related to the Higgs, Dark Matter and neutrinos at current experiments. A special attention will be given to the characterisation of Dark Matter signatures.
- lattice results can play a leading role in determining the phenomenology of the various models. A discussion of the state-of-the-art in BSM lattice studies will be given, with critical assessment of the usefulness of these results for phenomenology and model building.
- the prospect at future colliders will be discussed, with special focus on the proposals to build an elecron-positron and a hadronic collider in China.
- cosmological implications of phase-transitions in composite models, gravitational waves, baryogenesis, effects of the UV dynamics on cosmological evolution and neutrino mass generation mechanisms.
