Status of horizontal crystal bar ECAL software by Shengsen Sun
Particle Flow ECAL requires an efficient separation of showers from charged hadrons, photons and neutral hadrons, the confusion term dominate the jet energy resolution.
Crystal has better energy resolution, larger 𝑋_0/𝑅_𝑀 and shorter 𝜆_I, to foresee more overlap.
Ambiguity of perpendicular crystal bars is promising to be removed with established software solution.
Enormous potential for advanced reconstruction techniques dedicated for crystal ECAL making full use of the 5D information (x,y,z,E,t).
R&D plans for microrwell detectors for the preshower and muon detector of IDEA by Riccardo Farinelli
The geometry of IDEA pre-shower detector is introduced.
Program of µRWELL detector are introduced which includes test of large size mRWELLs with TIGER-GEMROC readout in 2021 and optimization studies on DLC resistivity and pitch size for the IDEA preshower and muon chamber.
Status Of Electromagnetic-size Prototype Module Preparation of Dual-readout Calorimetry by Jinky Agarwala
EM-size module has been constructed and ready to be coupled with readouts.
PMTs tested in Pavia are linear and ready to be used.
The test beam has been moved from Nov. 2020 to mid Feb. 2021. Further postpone until spring due to present Covid situation. Another TB @ CERN North Area – request submitted.
IDEA DR calorimeter simulation and SiPM digitization software by Alessandro Villa
We saw the capability of pySiPM to simulate SiPMs with different features and the production of corresponding digitized waveforms.
We studied the capability of finding the peak over the electronic noise in two different decay time constant of SiPMs conditions.
We analyzed the impact of the digitization on time distributions in signals generated with our IDEA DR calorimeter simulation.
We performed a saturation study obtaining the impact on energy reconstruction also performing an analytical correction.
BSRF test beam updates by Bo Liu
Test MIP-like particles in BSRF station and its type is suspected to be electrons with relative high energy leaked from BEPC ring
Brief test with LGAD sensors show a reasonale trigger rate about 50/cm2 .
Potentially a test beam facility based on those MIP particles for long term.
Performing first step to determine the type and energy of such particles.
