Description
The nature of dark matter is among the most pressing questions in particle physics and cosmology. There are many ideas and models. At the same time, large gaps still remain. I will give an overview of the main classes of dark matter theories, and summarize their status, and highlight possible future directions. BIOGRAPHY OF SPEAKER: Liantao Wang is the Professor of Enrico Fermi Institute, Department of Physics and Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics at University of Chicago. He completed his BSc at Fudan University and DPhil at University of Michigan. He later worked as research associate at University of Wisconsin, Madison and Harvard University. He joined the faculty of Princeton University in 2006 and moved to University of Chicago in 2011. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. His focus has been on various aspects of phenomenology of elementary particle physics.
