Abstract: We present results for the equilibrium and out-of-equilibrium properties of the hot and dense strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma, obtained from the holographic correspondence. Predictions for the location of the QCD critical point and the first-order phase transition line in the QCD phase diagram are presented. Comparisons with the most recent lattice QCD thermodynamics results are shown. New opportunities to improve the holographic modeling of the baryon rich QGP, both in and out-of-equilibrium, will also be discussed.
