The 7th Symposium on “Symmetries and the emergence of Structure in QCD” will be held in Rizhao, Shandong from July 19th to 22nd, 2023. The conference is organized by Peking University, Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, with Qufu Normal University as the host institution.

Strong interactions play a crucial role in determining the microscopic structure of matter at two levels: hadrons and atomic nuclei. Effectively describing the microscopic structure of matter at these two levels, starting from the fundamental theory of strong interactions, Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), and its low-energy effective theories based on various symmetries and symmetry breaking, remains a prominent challenge in the Standard Model of particle physics. It is a frontier topic that particle physics and nuclear physics are both deeply concerned with.

The symposium will feature academic presentations, open discussions, and other interactive sessions, aiming to provide a platform for free academic exchange among experts in the fields of particle physics and nuclear physics.

The conference is supported by the Sino-German CRC110 research project co-funded by the NSFC and the DFG. It also receives supports from the Center for High Energy Physics at Peking University.
