From Conformal Collider to the LHC and Beyond

报告摘要:Conformal symmetry has recently been found to have unexpected applications in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) at high energy, particularly in the calculation of energy flow correlations (EECs) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and other collider experiments. This builds on previous studies of using collider observables to constrain conformal field theory, known as conformal collider physics. This talk provides a review of the progress made in this field, highlighting the power of symmetry in interpreting experimental results and the implications for our understanding of QCD at high energies. The insights gained from these findings have led to the discovery of novel experimental phenomena, which calls for a deeper understanding of QCD in Minkowskian spacetime.


个人简介:朱华星现任北京大学物理学院副教授。他于2007年和2012年在北京大学分别获得本科和博士学位,2012年至2017年分别在斯坦福直线加速器中心和麻省理工学院担任博士后研究员,2017年至2023年在浙江大学担任百人计划研究员。他的研究方向包括微扰量子色动力学计算、软共线有效理论及其对撞机唯象学。他近年来的研究兴趣集中在能量关联函数和共形场论方法在喷注物理中的应用。他迄今共发表文章72篇,其中15篇发表于Physical Review Letters,总引用3900余次。他曾获得2020年香港求是基金会求是青年学者奖和2023年首届亚洲青年科学家奖。
