Description

ABSTRACT:

The high voltage CMOS (HVCMOS) detectors are a novel type of CMOS active pixel sensors for ionizing particles that can be implemented in CMOS processes with deep n-well option. The pixel contains one sensor electrode formed with a deep n-well implanted in p-type substrate. The HVCMOS technology has been implemented in particle physical experiment, electrical microscopy, and medical applications.

In this talk, the integrated circuits design flow has been first introduced and the mainly HVCMOS concept, applications as well as several measurement results have been demonstrated.

About the speaker:

Hui Zhang works currently at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and has nearly 10 years of research experience in semiconductor detection circuits, high-voltage CMOS sensors and other fields. She received her M.S. degrees in Integrated Circuits Design from Southeast University in 2013, China. And as exchange student at TUM in 2011, Germany. From 2012 to 2016, she worked as engineering at TKI Automotive GmbH, Infineon AG, and Fraunhofer Institute. She finished her PhD studies in 2021 at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology by obtaining Doctor of Engineering Degree. Collaborating with Prof. Ivan Peric, a pioneer in the HVCMOS development, Hui’s focus has primarily been on the design and development of innovative integrated circuits tailored for scientific and medical applications. Hui Zhang has gained wide experience and overview of diverse technologies. Her expertise has translated into significant contributions to over 10 highly complex chip designs. She is also responsible for translating both analog and digital integrated circuit courses from German to English.
