The aim of this symposium is to bring together active scientists in Nuclear Physics in China and South Africa, discuss the present status and future perspective of Nuclear Physics, forge closer links between theorists and experimentalists as well as strengthen collaborations between the research laboratories in both countries, so as to make optimal use of existing infrastructure for mutual benefit. The collaboration will also extend scientific activities in both research and education of young scientists.
Topics: The symposium will focus on the forefronts of nuclear science with new generation RIBs, including nuclear reaction, nuclear structure, gamma spectrum measurement, etc.
Organized by:
Chinese side: Beihang University, Peking University, China institute of Atomic Energy, etc.
South African side: Stellenbosch University, iThemba LABS, etc.
Hosted by: Beihang University
Supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China under Grants No 11181340311
Coordinator from China: Jie Meng (mengj@pku.edu.cn)
Coordinators from SA: Shaun M. Wyngaardt (shaunmw@sun.ac.za)
