Beihang University is proud to host the 2024 International Summer School, which will take place at Beihang University Shahe Campus between August 5 and 9, 2024. This 5-day course will provide an overview of Treatment Plan System (TPS) with its clinical applications and future developments. This summer school is the third of its series. The first (General Clinical Issues) was held virtually in 2021 and the second (Particle Therapy) was held in hybrid format in 2023. “Treatment Planning”, a process to design a treatment plan for cancer treatment, is one of the important functions for radiotherapy. It is also one of the major roles of medical physicists in radiotherapy. It shows the dose distributions in the target and in the adjacent organ at risk (OAR). The key is delivering the prescribed dose to cover the target (tumor) with uniform dose distributions for better tumor control and survival and sparing the adjacent OAR with minimal dose for less complications and better life quality.
This course will be beneficial to students, undergraduate and graduate, who are interested in medical physics or plan to take MP as a career. It will also be beneficial to the persons who work at clinics or industry as medical physicist to understand TPS system in general and to know how to design better plan in specific. This course will be held in Hybrid format (online and in person). We look forward to seeing you at the 2024 BUAA International Medical Physics Summer School!
