Abstract:
The ATLAS experiment, though not specifically designed as a heavy-flavor physics detector, has a wide contribution in this field. Thanks to its substantial integrated luminosity and excellent track and muon identification capabilities, ATLAS is competitive in studies involving final states with muons. In this talk, I will introduce recent heavy-flavor results from ATLAS including high-precision measurement of the 𝐵0B^0 meson lifetime, cross-section measurements of 𝐽/𝜓J/ψ and 𝜓(2𝑆)ψ(2S) mesons, and a search for di-charmonium resonances.
About the speaker:
Dr. Yue Xu is a postdoctoral researcher at University of Washington. She earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Physics at Tsinghua University in 2022 and subsequently served as a postdoc at the same university for two years, contributing to the ITk project. Currently, she is working at ATLAS for Pixel operations, new resonances searches and ML applications. Additionally, she contributes to the FASER experiment, working on tracker alignment. She serves as the convener of Spectroscopy and Production sub-group and as the Pixel run coordinator in ATLAS.
